I tried to make this myself but failed with the welding and the time involved to fit all the parts, so I turned it over to a pro shop and this is their result - in my opinion, a functional work of art. Just a few small adjustments and the production parts will then be built. After this, I'll do a pan to fit stock main girdle applications with much of the same sump design. Rear view - rear seal holder has been removed to show the oil return slot so oil flowing past the back of the thrust bearing has a route to flow back to the sump.
Full-length louvered windage tray
Sump baffling with trap doors surrounding the pump pickup. This baffling design is the shop that built the pan; they have used this on many other of their oil pan applications, both drag and road-race.
